There is a serious problem with childhood obesity in the US. These wonderful people of Jammin Junior-check them out on my friends list-are making a wonderful effort to tour the country and teach not only children but their parents also  on the importance and way of eating right and getting fit. Election candidates

Why can't politicians let us know what they will accomplish instead of wasting their time and mine and their money bashing other candidates.

Tiger Woods coming out.

A National disaster? A terrorist attack? No a Tiger Woods coming out. Who cares!! Don't interrupt my programming unless I am in serious danger!! If they had every guy I dated that ended up being married on TV- they would have to cancel the Olympics for air time.

A Baker lost in a dieting world

Ok I confess.I am an addicted baker.Blame it on my German roots but soon as the temp hits below 50 I want to bake. I remember the good ol' days when I would bake for hours and take the goodies to work and enjoy the smiles on peoples faces enjoying my wonderful treats. Ah enter the decade of everyone watching their diet blah blah blah. Make a tray full of goodies and they pass it up to search for the carrot sticks. *sigh* -Maybe that's what is wrong with the world today-no one is having enough Toll House cookies!

What happened to the Great American Novels?

Remember when you could read a book like Brave New World-Grapes of Wrath- or even some great Ray Bradbury books? I love reading great novels but every book I see today seems so
what is the word I need?/ dated maybe. Seems like they are all alike just different writers. Maybe it's my loss of not going to the library anymore and trying to read reviews in the paper or online. Even browsing thru Barnes & Noble I can't find anything that makes me want to go AH!!!
Here's one! I am tired of romance type novels-and please don't buy me any Daniel Steele or Nora Roberts! . I need something that reminds me of the great Steinbeck novels. Ah well I guess the quest coontinues!

Washington State Apples -are they in America?

All the apples grown in WA and other US states, why do I have to keep buying apples from South America? I can't find American grown apples except for red delicious. And try and find organic ones in the US? Forget it!

cell phone use while driving

Using cell phones while driving is thousands of times more dangerous than impaired drivers. You may come across an impaired driver in one out of a several hundred vehicles and usually in the late pm. Being exposed to a driver using a cell phone is closer to one in 5 at anytime during the day. With all the stats and studies about the dangers of cell phone use I find it remarkable that our civic leaders would leave themselves liable. A suit seeking class action certification for injuries received from an accident caused by a driver using a cell phone is imminent. But I guess elected officials don't care about their next stint in office or the hundreds of millions it will eventually cost taxpayers if this scenario would unfold.
